Crain’s Best Places to Work in Ohio recognizes organizations across the state that demonstrate outstanding workplace cultures and a strong commitment to their employees.

The 2026 honorees represent industries ranging from financial services and technology to manufacturing, construction and healthcare. While their work may look different, Crain’s notes that these organizations share a commitment to employees that can strengthen productivity, loyalty, innovation and customer experience.

To be eligible for the program, an organization must:

• Be publicly or privately held, for-profit or nonprofit
• Have been in business for at least one year
• Employ at least 25 people working in Ohio

How Are the Best Places to Work Selected?

One of the most meaningful parts of this recognition is how companies are evaluated.

Best Companies Group, an independent workplace excellence research firm, conducts a two-part assessment.

The first portion is an employer questionnaire that gathers information about company benefits, policies, practices and other workplace details.

The second is a confidential 77-question employee survey designed to evaluate employees’ actual experiences and perceptions of their workplace culture.

Most importantly, employee feedback accounts for 75% of the overall score.

The results of both assessments are combined and analyzed to identify organizations that meet the program’s standard of workplace excellence.

For us, that makes this recognition about much more than a ranking. It reflects the experience and feedback of the people who make WellnessIQ what it is.
