Emily Mikusa
Strategic Program Manager
On the Clock
Emily has always been a fan of health and wellness, but developed a true passion while in college at Kent State University and for the first time she saw and felt the benefits of consistent exercise and healthy eating. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Food & Nutrition (Hospitality Management), exercise became an outlet that allowed her to function at a higher level both personally and professionally as a sales representative and business development manager in the hospitality industry.
In 2010, she decided to turn that outlet and passion into a full time profession and returned to Kent State University to earn a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology. She took her sales and management skills into the fitness industry and has since worked with on-site corporate wellness programs as well as medically based fitness centers. She is a certified yoga instructor at the 500-hour level and teaches several other fitness formats.
Off the Clock
When Emily is not working or working out, she enjoys live music, brewery hopping, and traveling anywhere with a beach involved. Her and her partner Doug recently welcomed their first child, Reia, and are loving every minute of parenthood. They also brew beer and have plans to open their own small craft brewery one day.
Fun Fact/Unique Skill:
Emily worked as a bartender for several years and practices mixology (in moderation, of course!).
Favorite Recipe:
Incredibly soft and delicious, Emily’s banana bread recipe is a must try.
